About this role

The Disability Care Services in Umeå Municipality aim to be a resource that liberates and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life through proximity and interaction. Frida Åslunds Gränd is a service housing facility according to LSS, focusing on intellectual disabilities. The facility has a total of 11 apartments and offers support to individuals with various cognitive and neuropsychiatric disabilities. The primary placement will be at Frida Åslunds Gränd, but through collaborative planning, part of the working hours will also be allocated to the service housing at Hoppets Gränd and Storgatan. The user groups are the same as those at Frida Åslunds Gränd. There may be instances of threats and violence in the workplace. There are pets in the facilities, including a cat and a dog, so you should not have allergies. We are now seeking a support assistant to join our team! Your Responsibilities In the role of support assistant, you will assist users in their daily lives with approved interventions. This may include: - Personal care and transfers - Cooking, cleaning, laundry, and other practical tasks - Planning and implementing activities - Social, educational, and individual support Your work aims to enhance the user's own abilities, increase independence, and create a safe and meaningful everyday life. We primarily work based on: - Positive Behavior Support (PBS) - Clear pedagogical methods - Low-arousal responses You will plan, implement, document, and follow up on interventions both independently and in collaboration with colleagues. Working hours: day, evening, weekend, and on-call night shifts. About You You are flexible, possess strong collaboration skills, and maintain a professional demeanor towards users, relatives, and other stakeholders. You are engaged and willing to share our values and work towards set goals, as well as focus on continuous improvements. It is also important that you have an empathetic ability and can understand others' perspectives. Personal suitability will be given significant weight. To communicate effectively with users, relatives, and colleagues, as well as to write and access care documentation and receive medication delegation, you must have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written forms. Requirements - Completed education in the Health and Care program, Child and Leisure program, Social Work program, or other qualifications deemed equivalent by the employer - Experience working within the field of intellectual disabilities Meritorious - Experience with low-arousal responses in situations involving threats and violence - Training in clear pedagogical methods - Training in positive behavior support Additional Information To ensure that the candidates invited for an interview best meet the requirements and qualifications for the position, we use selection questions.
