Care for Individuals with Disabilities In our care services, we assist individuals with various disabilities. We work to facilitate and support our clients in managing their daily practicalities. The goal is for them to lead as independent a life as possible. With the client at the center, we work with individual implementation plans, where the work is planned and executed based on our core values: trust, care, and participation. We are currently seeking a staff member for our unit, specifically at the group home Apoteksgatan, located in Slite, Northern Gotland. This is a residence with special services under LSS and provides round-the-clock care. We currently have a team of 8 staff members. Your Responsibilities As a support assistant/residential assistant, you will work alongside your colleagues to provide support, service, and care to the residents. This is a responsible role with an educational perspective where you support our clients by assisting with, among other tasks: - Personal care - Household chores - Medication administration and other delegated health and medical services - Escorting The position includes being a contact person, which means you are responsible for, among other things, implementation plans, communication with relatives, and coordination of LSS, HSL, and SOL services. You will work according to a basic schedule with shifts during the day, evening, and overnight with on-call duties. The role also includes weekend work according to a rotation schedule, allowing everyone the opportunity to work with all colleagues. In the schedule, you may sometimes work two consecutive weekends and at other times have two consecutive weekends off, creating variation and balance in the work. Who Are You? We are looking for someone who has completed upper secondary education and holds a valid driver's license (B). It is advantageous if you have training focused on care and support, but it is not a requirement. Previous experience in caring for individuals with disabilities and knowledge of challenging behavior and low-arousal responses is also beneficial. Familiarity with sign communication and experience working with pictograms is a merit. Additionally, knowledge of type 1 diabetes and experience with insulin delegation is a plus. You possess personal maturity and are confident in yourself, with the ability to adapt your approach based on the individual and the situation. You are self-motivated and take initiative while also having well-developed teamwork skills and enjoy working in a team. You communicate clearly in spoken language and work in a structured manner, with good problem-solving and analytical skills when situations change or become more complex. The work is varied and requires flexibility regarding tasks and schedules. You see it as natural to sometimes support other areas of the unit and contribute to a professional and stable work environment. It is important that you are proficient in the Swedish language, both spoken and written, as all communication and documentation is conducted in Swedish.
