Scrap Coordinator The Scrap Coordinator plays a key role functioning as the bridge between procurement, production, and suppliers, managing and optimizing the company's metal scrap flow. This position is critical in ensuring a steady, cost-efficient, and high-quality supply of metal scrap to the steelmaking process. Location: Oxelösund. About the Position In the role of Scrap Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to work with varied tasks from both a strategic and an operational perspective, in close cooperation with Commodity Managers. This is a new position in procurement with the expectation that you will be involved in developing the role and working methods. You will be part of the purchasing organization within Special Steels Oxelösund and belong to a team of seven operational colleagues with broad knowledge and experience. Main Responsibilities Strategic • Assist in evaluating suppliers, developing and implementing new procurement and sourcing strategies • Manage and maintain communication with suppliers, ensuring they meet quality and delivery standards • Identify and implement improvements in scrap handling and support initiatives to reduce discrepancies Operational • Creating, tracking, and processing purchase orders, as well as resolving any issues that arise during the procurement process • Oversee the timely management and execution of orders • Coordinating and following up on deliveries • KPI follow-ups and preparing reports • Overseeing contract renewals, extensions, and ensuring compliance with contractual terms • Review and process invoices to ensure timely payment About You • Background in planning, logistics, production, or material management or equivalent experience • Experience from the steel, recycling, or metal industry is highly valued • Strong communication and coordination skills across departments and with external partners • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and process improvement • Understanding of environmental and recycling regulations related to metal scrap • Proactive and solution-oriented • Structured and safety-conscious • Comfortable working in both office and industrial environments • Team player with a hands-on approach and high sense of responsibility Our Offer At SSAB, we strive for a diverse and inclusive environment.
