About this role
We are looking for a driven and analytical individual who wants to work with data and reporting in a manufacturing industry. You will be a key person in developing, enhancing, and operating reports and analyses based on the organization's needs using SAS tools. You will work closely with Production and Quality across several similar operational areas, transforming raw data into insights that drive improvements in our business. If you are passionate about solving problems, enjoy providing service, want to share your knowledge, and be part of our journey towards fossil-free steel production, this could be the role for you. Welcome with your application! The position is located in Oxelösund.
Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the planet's future and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for our societal development and will continue to be in the future. In our homes, in bridges that connect our cities, and in tomorrow's cars. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and leadership in high-strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. Therefore, we have developed the world’s first fossil-free process for steel production and are committed to becoming largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will play an essential role in achieving this goal and thus contribute to a green transition of the entire steel industry.
In the role of System Developer, you will support our senior unique users in production by creating new reports, monitoring production data, process data, and quality outcomes. You will also closely collaborate with our Data Warehouse team, which manages Oracle and Power BI. Even though you are an expert in your own field in this role, it is important that you want to see the bigger picture and enjoy learning new things and incorporating other perspectives.
This is an exciting role where you will have the opportunity to make a business impact, not just work technically. You will navigate operationally within an organization that values analysis and quality and will be part of a highly skilled team. You will report directly to the IT Manager in Oxelösund.
Selection and interviews will take place on an ongoing basis during the application period.
Your main responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and analyses in our SAS environment.
• Manage large datasets from the manufacturing industry – e.g., production data, quality data, logistics flows, or inventory and suppliers.
• Create and optimize ETL processes, data models, and automated processes to ensure data quality and availability.
• Collaborate with the business – production, operations, quality, business support – to understand needs and deliver solutions.
• Document solutions, ensure that the solutions are maintainable, and serve as reporting/analysis support for the business.
• Identify opportunities for efficiency and automation through analysis and tools.
About you:
• You have good competency in SAS (or another equivalent tool environment) and are comfortable working in several parts of SAS tools (or have experience handling complex reporting in SAS).
• Alternatively, you have documented experience working with complex reports/analysis solutions within the manufacturing industry, where data flows, production, and supply chain are involved.
• You should be familiar with Base SAS Visual Analytics and SAS Viva.
• As a person, you are analytical, solution-oriented, and accustomed to handling large datasets and complex processes.
• To succeed in the role, you need to have good communication skills to navigate among advanced users as well as with other data warehouse functions within SSAB.
• We prefer that you have a relevant university degree or otherwise acquired competence in analysis and data management.
• It is advantageous if you have many years of experience in analytical work within the manufacturing industry and/or experience with SAS Viva and experience in data warehouse/BI environment.
Our offer:
At SSAB, diversity and inclusion are part of our culture. We use our values – driving, authentic, and one step ahead – in our daily decision-making, always with the customer in focus. This makes us all team players, with a shared ambition to improve. When you join SSAB, you become part of an organization with passionate problem-solvers working together on important challenges. We will support your growth by providing a safe and friendly workplace that contributes to the balance between work and personal life. At SSAB, you have the opportunity to broaden your knowledge and grow.
