Description
The position of language, reading, and writing developer in Filipstad Municipality involves collaborating with the head of administration/school principal, the primary school principal group, and the mathematics developer to enhance the competence of school staff and create conditions for effective and systematic quality work.
The role covers the entire primary school from preschool class to grade 9 in the municipal primary schools: Brattfors School, Ferlinskolan, Nordmarks School, Nykroppa School, Stjärnskolan, Stålvallaskolan, and Åsenskolan.
Responsibilities
The overarching mission of the language, reading, and writing developer entails:
- Monitoring and analyzing the language, reading, and writing development work at the municipal primary schools,
- Planning, organizing, and implementing assignments and development initiatives,
- Engaging in pedagogical discussions and highlighting research in the field, and
- Focusing particularly on school libraries.
This includes, among other tasks:
- Evaluating and developing the municipality's quality assurance documents.
- Collecting, compiling, analyzing, and returning results based on quality assurance.
- Providing feedback and discussing results in Swedish and Swedish as a second language from quality assurance with working teams.
- Returning and presenting certain results to preschool working team leaders, competency developers, and principals.
- Developing routines for administering and grading the national subject tests in Swedish/Swedish as a second language for grades 3 and 6.
- Grading the national tests in grades 3 and 6 in collaboration with the municipal teachers.
- Providing pedagogical support to teachers in various ways.
- Developing educational materials.
- Guiding teachers based on the principal's delegation.
- Mentoring during the introductory year.
- Organizing and leading preschool class teacher meetings together with the mathematics developer (4 times per academic year).
- Participating in the SOL network in Värmland (language, reading, and writing developers).
- Acting as a discussion partner in language, reading, and writing development.
- Collaborating with preschool competency developers alongside the mathematics developer (4 meetings per term).
- Participating in primary school principal meetings.
- Participating in the committee (BUN) based on the directive from the head of administration.
- Coordinating between school libraries and Filipstad's Bergslags Library.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with a teaching license for primary school and qualifications in Swedish and Swedish as a second language. You should have a strong interest in developing the language, reading, and writing area in our municipality and possess analytical skills. You should demonstrate excellent organizational and collaboration abilities, and feel confident presenting evaluations, analyses, and proposals for action clearly. You are flexible and have a deep interest in children's and youth literature.
