About this role

Skanska's rock group specializes in blasting and rock work, undertaking both large and small projects across the country. We are particularly active in northern Sweden, Mälardalen, and Gothenburg. We are now seeking experienced blasters for above-ground work. As a blaster, you will be responsible for planning and executing blasting operations in rock and stone. You will handle loading and detonation, ensuring that the work is carried out in accordance with safety regulations and environmental requirements. Other responsibilities include: - Ensuring the correct handling of explosives. - Overseeing blasting in contract projects. - Reporting production back to the production manager. - Maintaining and servicing equipment. - Working on improvements within the operation. - Being able to perform ADR transports. For this position, we are looking for candidates who reside in one of the locations along the Norrland coast, from Gävle up to Örnsköldsvik. We carry out projects nationwide, which means you need to be flexible and able to travel for work. Per diem will apply for work in other locations. Blaster with experience in contract work We are looking for someone who has a positive attitude and easily sees opportunities and solutions. You often have ideas on how work can be done better, safer, and more efficiently. Taking responsibility and being meticulous in your work is a given for you, and you have the drive to get things done. The position requires: - At least five years of experience in blasting work and experience in contract work. - Blasting certification, ADR Class 1, and experience with explosives. It is advantageous if you have certification in bolt setting and rock demolition, as well as drilling skills. Working in an operation that handles explosives places high demands on you as an individual. Good judgment is always important, but in this type of role, it is crucial. We are looking for someone who, both at work and at home, adheres to agreements and regulations, is meticulous, and possesses administrative qualities. Safety is always our top priority, especially in this type of operation. Therefore, we seek someone who puts safety first and has a high awareness of risk. A valid driver's license (B) is required, along with fluent Swedish in both spoken and written forms. Safety and health requirements for the position This employment is subject to the Act (2010:1011) on flammable and explosive goods ("LBE") and the Regulation (2010:1075) on flammable and explosive goods ("FBE"). The employer will regularly, in accordance with mandatory legislation, request a suitability assessment of you as a participant in such operations. A prerequisite for employment is that you are approved in this suitability assessment. The position also requires a valid fitness certificate regarding quartz: fibrogenic dust. To ensure fitness for the role, a medical examination will be conducted before employment is finalized. We also apply alcohol and drug testing before employment is finalized.
