Swedish Language Instructor for Business Clients in Gothenburg - Primarily Late Afternoon & Evening
Berlitz Corporation has been operating in Sweden since 1931 and is a world-leading language and communication company. We offer an international, professional, and dynamic workplace. We are currently seeking language instructors to deliver high-quality Swedish language education in Gothenburg.
We are looking for someone who:
• Can be available for teaching (face-to-face & online) at least two afternoons and evenings per week (16:00-20:00). This availability will be complemented with other times within our operating hours - 08:00-20:00 Monday-Friday. Our customers typically have two lesson sessions/week with the most common combinations being Monday + Wednesday, Tuesday + Thursday, and also Wednesday + Friday (same times on both days)
• Can motivate students by being creative and dynamic, while creating structure in teaching
• Is present and attentive to customer needs
• Is good at listening and open to personal development
• Has good and open collaborative abilities with all team members (administrative staff and other teachers)
• Is structured as the work involves some administrative tasks (documenting lesson content and student feedback)
• Preferably trained as a language consultant or holding another language-related qualification
You need:
• Swedish as a native language of instruction
• At least a bachelor's degree and/or business-related work experience. If you are a student, having completed your degree is not required
Your Responsibilities:
You will teach Swedish using the Berlitz Method® while documenting students' pedagogical development. As an instructor, you should motivate students by being creative and dynamic while creating teaching structure. Teaching will take place at our office in central Gothenburg and at client locations. We collaborate throughout the organization regarding student matters.
Mandatory Online Instructor Training
This is a needs-based position offered after completing and passing mandatory online instructor training. The training covers approximately 30 teaching hours over a period of about three weeks. It begins with self-study online modules followed by instructor-led virtual sessions in English. The training is unpaid, but we view it as an investment in our future instructors and will cover the costs. Once you complete the training and begin employment, all further training and workshops will be compensated.
