About the Position
We are seeking someone who wants to work strategically and closely with special education issues in an organization where collaboration, knowledge development, and long-term perspective are central. As a special education teacher at the Development Unit, you will work with promotional, preventive, and remedial support for preschool, primary school, and adapted primary school.
The unit includes several pupil health professionals and planners supporting systematic quality work, development and process support, and prioritized development areas such as language development, career guidance, attendance, and digitalization. In the role, you will work independently on various matters, but there are also opportunities to collaborate with colleagues on larger issues.
Example Tasks:
• Work proactively and preventively, follow up and evaluate implemented measures together with relevant parties at organizational, group, and individual levels
• Collaborate with preschool/school management, child/student health teams, and other school personnel to create an accessible, good learning environment for children and students
• Serve as a qualified discussion partner, mentor pedagogues, and initiate appropriate interventions in collaboration with other professional groups based on children's and students' needs
• Independently lead and support the development of pedagogical work to meet the needs of all children and students
• Access knowledge of the field's scientific foundation, insight into current research and development work, and understanding of the relationship between science and proven experience and its significance for professional practice
• Work according to applicable governing documents
• Know and follow the organization's applicable laws, policies, and procedures
About the Workplace
The Development Unit is part of the Quality Department at the Preschool and Primary School Administration. The unit consists of a wonderful team of 22 employees with broad competence and extensive experience supporting schools and development. We work in an activity-based setting in newly renovated premises at Åbylunden 1 in Örnsro. In the role of special education teacher at the development unit, it is important that you are independent in your work, have good collaboration skills, a communicative approach, and are flexible and development-oriented.
Qualifications
As a special education teacher, you are expected to be available to work teams and be closely involved in operations. You are confident in your role, take responsibility for your tasks, and have a good understanding of how people acquire knowledge differently. You are attentive, adaptable, and collaborate well with others. Since the position involves a degree of freedom with responsibility, you need the ability to structure your tasks and continuously maintain your specialist knowledge as a knowledge resource for others. You consider clear communication and ensuring the message is understood as fundamental, as well as the importance of reminding and following up.
Furthermore, you must master the Swedish language to communicate with children, relatives, and other staff, and be able to document what the organization requires. As the work involves digital documentation, good computer skills are also required.

Requirements:
• Teaching license or preschool teacher license
• Special education degree (90 ECTS credits)
• Experience in special education work within preschool, primary school, or adapted primary school
Merits:
• Experience mentoring educators in preschool, primary school, or adapted primary school
