Read more at http://www.sjoangsskolan.stockholm.se Job Description We are seeking an experienced special educator or special teacher with overarching responsibility for our middle school. All special educators and special teachers at the school work both with administrative tasks related to special support and practically by providing support interventions and teaching students individually, in groups, and within regular teaching situations. You will collaborate closely with the deputy principal, teachers, and other educational staff in the middle school. In the role of special educator, you will work together with teachers and student health services to ensure that students receive the guidance and stimulation they need in their learning and personal development. This is to enable them to develop as far as possible according to educational goals based on their own circumstances. In your work, you are expected to propose interventions and adjustments for students in need of this, participate in the establishment of assessments and action plans, as well as follow-up and evaluation of these. Your responsibilities will also include teaching small groups and providing individual support to students. You will be part of the student health services at the school and participate in preventive and health-promoting efforts to ensure that all students receive adequate support. This role involves many points of contact with students, staff, and guardians. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has a teaching license and a degree in special education or as a special teacher. You should be qualified in both Swedish and mathematics, and we would like you to specify which grade levels you are qualified for, as well as the focus of your special education training. We seek someone who takes initiative and can independently plan and implement support interventions for students. You are structured, good at prioritizing, and follow through on your commitments. You have documented experience working as a special educator or special teacher. Personal suitability is of great importance to us. Merits: Experience working with students who are learning Swedish as a second language.
