About this role

About the Assignment We are seeking external investigators with special education expertise to temporarily reinforce work on support investigations in preschool class, primary school, after-school programs, and adapted primary school. The purpose of the assignment is to ensure legally secure, equivalent, and well-grounded investigations of students' needs for special support. The assignment will contribute to improved quality and efficiency in schools' student health work and provide support to principals in decision-making processes regarding support programs. The assignment involves work within a municipal operation starting as soon as possible and continuing until January 31st. The consultant should be able to be on-site when needed, but parts of the work can be performed remotely by agreement. Work Tasks As an external investigator, you will: • Conduct investigations of students' needs for special support according to school law and current guidelines. • Map and analyze students' school situations based on pedagogical, social, and psychological factors. • Collaborate with principals, special education teachers, and student health teams to ensure correct and usable decision-making documentation. • Document investigations in digital systems according to established routines. • Provide feedback and competence support to school staff. • When necessary, participate in meetings with guardians and school personnel to present conclusions and recommendations. The assignment may include both individual student investigations and comprehensive reviews of schools' support processes. Qualifications • Special education degree or equivalent relevant education. • Documented experience working in primary school with a focus on investigations and support measures. • Good knowledge of school law and general guidelines regarding special support. • Ability to independently plan, implement, and document investigations. • Experience collaborating with principals, student health teams, and guardians. • Strong digital competence and familiarity with operational systems. • High integrity, good communication skills, and experience working with confidential information. Meritorious: • Experience working in a politically governed organization. • Experience with supervision, training initiatives, or quality development in special support. • Experience from School Inspectorate review areas or similar investigative work at principal level.
