About the Company
Kunskapsskolan in Jönköping is a primary school for grades 4–9 with approximately 200 students. Here, we work with a personalized education approach, clear goals, and continuous follow-up, creating a safe and study-focused environment where many students achieve high results in all subjects.
Our operations are based on four core values: We see the power in each individual, We achieve more together, We have high expectations, and We are driven by development. The student health team is a central support function and consists of a school nurse, school psychologist, counselor, and special educator/teacher – demonstrating our integrated and interdisciplinary approach.
Your Responsibilities
As a special educator responsible for the library in the mornings, you will be at the heart of the school's educational work. You will conduct comprehensive educational assessments using tools such as LOGOS and other assessment supports, creating individualized action plans. Your mission is to shape accessible learning environments and ensure that all students receive the right support – with a particular focus on those students who have action plans.
In this role, you will be part of the school's student health team and work closely with teachers, guardians, and external stakeholders. Collaboration and dialogue are central tools – where you will have the opportunity to engage in both preventive and remedial support situations. The library responsibility means you will staff the library every morning, manage lending and book purchases, and receive requests – a valuable complement to your educational mission.
Your Profile
To thrive and succeed with us, we particularly value that you:
- Have a strong student focus and empathy – recognize each student's needs and build trusting relationships.
- Are structured and methodical – confident in assessments, planning, and routines.
- Are communicatively skilled – build trust and collaborate clearly with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
- Are driven by development and learning – reflect on working methods and continuously seek improvement, in line with Kunskapsskolan's values.
- Enjoy teamwork and collaboration – actively contribute to the student health team and educational discussions with colleagues.
Formal Requirements:
- Licensed special educator or special teacher.
- Documented experience in educational assessments, evaluations, and support measures.
- Proficient in communicating well in Swedish, both spoken and written.
With us, you will have a role that offers both breadth and depth – from educational special education work to care for the school library. You will become a key player in a school where high expectations and inclusion go hand in hand. You will receive professional collaboration with colleagues and students, as well as support from school management that truly invests in quality and professional development.
