Job Responsibilities
As a special educator, you will assist the school with special educational expertise at all organizational levels and contribute to school development. Your work will involve promoting a well-functioning student health service to support students' development towards educational goals.
The main responsibilities include:
• Mapping the needs of students and groups
• Analyzing the school's work in relation to students' learning
• Planning, implementing, and evaluating interventions
• Coordinating the work with handovers and transition documents for students starting and leaving the school
• Actively engaging in educational research and utilizing and disseminating research findings and methods to enhance students' learning
• Observing, guiding, and consulting teaching staff regarding students in need of adaptations and special support within the available learning environment
• Driving and developing the student health service's part of the systematic quality work
• Participating in the school's student health team
• Engaging in the cross-administrative network for special educational improvement work
• Documenting in Prorenata
Qualifications
Requirements:
• Degree in preschool teaching, teaching, or leisure pedagogy, along with advanced training as a special educator (300 credits)
• Experience working with children and adolescents with disabilities
• Familiarity with external contacts and collaboration with staff, students, guardians, habilitation, child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP), and social services
• Good insight into the school's goals and governing documents
• Strong digital competence
• Proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written
Meritorious:
• Experience working with students in an Individual Alternative or in small teaching groups
• Experience working with student health from a systematic and organizational perspective
• Strong experience collaborating with other authorities and participating in various networks
As a special educator, you handle complex issues and find sustainable pedagogical solutions. You have a good understanding of how people acquire knowledge and adapt your approach to different needs. You are flexible, see opportunities in change, and use new information to develop teaching. Through a relational and inclusive approach, you build trust and collaboration with students, colleagues, and other professionals. You value diversity and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation influence oneself and others.
