About this role
Västerås City has removed the personal letter from the application process. We do this to create a better and more fair recruitment process. When you submit your application, you will be asked to answer a number of questions that will be an important part of our selection work.
At Vallbyskolan, you as a special education teacher/specialist teacher in Swedish and mathematics will have the chance to make a difference for our students. In a small, close-knit school with a strong community, you will become a central part of our student health team, where collaboration, development, and student well-being are always in focus. Here, you can contribute your specialized expertise and grow in an environment where your voice and ideas make an impact.
Your Duties
As a special education teacher/specialist teacher in Swedish and mathematics for grades F-1, you have a significant role in the school's preventive and health-promoting work. You represent the student health team and collaborate with teachers to identify student needs. You will follow up on additional adaptations, mapping, investigations, and action plans implemented in various classes together with teachers and collaborate with the principal and other student health team members. You will work closely with our student health team.
You have a good ability to listen and include teachers and other colleagues in decisions, creating good conditions for collaborations where we see opportunities in each other's different roles at the school. Part of the position involves supporting individual students or student groups, where you adapt materials and approaches. We believe that the person applying for this position is flexible and enjoys the variety of tasks, gaining a holistic view of the school's students and being able to make a difference every day.
Your Competence
You are a certified primary school teacher with further education as a special education teacher or specialist teacher. Experience working in primary school and adapted primary school (grades F-6) is a plus. Experience with early support teaching in mathematics and Swedish/Swedish as a second language is also positive.
You are an important adult for our students, a calm and secure person who understands that all students have different conditions and learn in different ways. You enjoy collaborating with others and interact with people in a attentive and respectful manner. You create engagement and participation while inspiring and providing others with the conditions to reach common goals.
We Offer
At Vallbyskolan, we collectively take responsibility for our students' well-being and place great importance on building good relationships with each student. As a small school, we work closely together, giving you good opportunities to influence and actively contribute to the school's development. Here, you will find a pleasant workplace with fantastic students and a cohesive student health team that works closely together.
Here, you become part of something bigger! With warmth and respect, we show initiative in both the big and small things. We live our core values in our interactions with each other and those we serve. Every day, year-round, we ensure that Västerås functions. Together with your approximately 11,500 colleagues throughout the city, you get Sweden's most important job.
