Then this position might be for you. We are now seeking a Special Education Teacher or Learning Support Specialist for Byskeskolan, grades F-6. YOUR ROLE As a special education teacher or learning support specialist in the lower grades, you play a crucial role in laying the foundation for students' future learning. You'll be where it all begins – where small steps make a big difference and early interventions can truly change a student's path through school. You will work both preventively and responsively by mapping and analyzing student needs, planning and implementing pedagogical interventions, and teaching individual students or small groups. In close collaboration with teachers, student health teams, and guardians, you will contribute to shaping a school where all children have the opportunity to feel seen, involved, and secure in their learning. Together with your colleagues, you will develop working methods and approaches that strengthen students' curiosity and make learning accessible to everyone. YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE We are seeking someone with a special education or learning support teaching degree. You have good knowledge of Swedish and English, are confident in your professional role, and use digital tools as a natural part of instruction. You work systematically, are attentive, and enjoy the role of mentor and support – for both students and colleagues. It is meritorious if you have experience working with students who need special support, particularly in areas such as neuropsychiatric variations or learning difficulties. You have a solution-focused and creative approach and see the possibilities in each student's unique strengths. We prefer candidates with a B driver's license, but it is not a requirement. To work within Education and Labor Market services, you must submit an extract from the criminal record register. YOUR NEW WORKPLACE Byskeskolan is an F-9 school with after-school care, located three miles north of Skellefteå, with convenient commuting options along the E4 highway. We work closely together within the principal's area, which also includes Ostviksskolan and Drängsmarksskolan.
