About this role
Raoul Wallenberg School Skövde has expanded since its inception in 2015 from 80 students to just over 850, ranging from preschool to grade 9. Nearly 350 of these students are in primary and middle school. The school operates under the motto "making a positive difference," and our ambition is to be the most attractive primary school in Skövde. We have a clear set of values based on our guiding principles, with order and structure at the forefront. We place great importance on creating a shared approach to teaching and other activities. Interest in our school concept is very high, and therefore our ambition is to build and establish several new schools in both Skövde and Skaraborg in the coming years.
Who are you?
We are looking for a skilled, driven, and engaged special educator who, like us, is passionate about making a positive difference for our students—both those in need of special support and those who require challenges. We seek someone who shares our values and our passion for children and education. As a special educator with us, you will play a central role in the school's student health work and help drive pedagogical development forward. You will work closely with students, educators, guardians, the student health team, and school management, focusing on creating accessible learning environments and providing students with the right conditions based on their needs.
You see it as an exciting challenge to work alongside our lead teachers, other educators, and special educators to develop the teaching in our schools into something truly special. We are working on developing subject didactics and formative assessment/approaches.
Your main responsibilities:
• Actively participate in daily operations and support educators in their work with adaptations and special support.
• Map students' needs and learning environments.
• Implement and follow up on assessment support in classes.
• Teach individual students and small groups based on needs.
• Lead meetings with the student health team, educators, and guardians.
• Mentor and support educators on issues related to leadership and stimulation, extra adaptations, and special support.
Come and develop with us!
To thrive with us, we believe that in addition to your formal qualifications, you:
• Take initiative and have the ability to work in a structured manner.
• Enjoy collaborating and possess good communication skills.
• Are solution-oriented.
• See opportunities in all students and strive to find the right support measures.
• Build trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Want to contribute to school development both locally and within the organization.
Would you like to be part of our fantastic team? Then we can offer you:
• A good working environment where everyone's opinions are considered and respected.
• Significant opportunities for participation and the ability to influence the school's development.
• The opportunity to continue developing by applying for career positions.
• Collegial professional development.
• An accessible school management team and quick decision-making processes within the organization.
• Free educational lunch.
