About this role

The German School is an international school centrally located in Stockholm's inner city. The goal is for students to graduate with both a German International Abitur and a Swedish high school diploma. Approximately 600 students are enrolled in grades 0-12, distributed across 26 classes. Additionally, there is a preschool program with 33 children. The facilities on Bragevägen include after-school activities, preschool classes, and grades 1-3. Other grades and the preschool are located on Karlavägen. Both German and Swedish culture and traditions are a natural part of our operations. The governing body is the German School Association, and there are about 100 employees. The staff consists of both locally hired personnel and German-speaking teachers employed and dispatched from Germany. We are seeking a dedicated and competent colleague for our lower school (preschool class to grade 4) who will be the closest colleague and deputy to the principal of the primary school. You will have a particular focus on special education work to create the best possible conditions for learning and social development for all students. Your responsibilities include: - Acting as the interim principal in the absence of the regular principal (coordinator for grades F-4) and supporting in administrative, organizational, and pedagogical matters - Driving and developing special education efforts and contributing to the development of Begegnungsschule (bilingual school) - Taking an active role in the primary school's student health team (F-4) - Participating in the planning and implementation of conferences and projects related to school development - Teaching in the primary school (preschool class to grade 4) We are looking for someone who has: - Teacher training from a German-speaking country or from Sweden - Special education training - At least three years of teaching experience - Good knowledge of Swedish and German (minimum level C1 according to the CEFR). One of the languages should be your native language - Leadership skills, organizational abilities, and good collaboration skills - Knowledge of Swedish school law is an advantage Conditions: We offer a full-time position with a monthly salary and a holiday service. The employment is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period.
