Special Educator, Almåsgymnasiet Job Responsibilities As a special educator, you play an important role in the school's student health services. We believe in early interventions, shared responsibility, and a health-promoting approach. Together with your special educator colleague and other professionals, you form the school's student health team and work closely with students, teachers, and school management. The goal is for all students to receive support and encouragement to develop and reach the educational objectives based on their individual circumstances. The work is varied, characterized by frequent student contacts, and involves many points of contact with students, staff, school management, and, in some cases, guardians. You will work with the following areas: • Health-promoting and preventive work for students' development, which includes support, guidance, and stimulation of individual students, classes, or groups. • Educational guidance at the individual, group, and organizational levels, where you provide advice and support, as well as guide staff. • Establishing special educational assessments and evaluations; as well as creating, following up on, and evaluating action plans. • Operational development, which includes developing methods and approaches, as well as participating in planning and organizational matters. • Collaboration in the form of cross-professional cooperation within student health, with external actors, and with educators and other staff at the school. Selection and interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis. Qualifications You who are applying have a background as a teacher and hold a degree in special education. Independence and collaboration should be combined in teamwork. It is therefore important that you have a holistic view of the operations and a strong ability to collaborate and work in teams. It is crucial that you are engaged in your work and have a positive attitude towards the students. You contribute to creating good learning environments and conditions for students' learning. You also have a good understanding of applicable governing documents, students' rights to special support, and the formulation of action plans. Since communication and documentation are significant parts of the role, you must have strong skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. In your work, you are structured and can prioritize and follow through on your commitments. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities such as social competence, flexibility, responsiveness, and ability to collaborate. Experience in special education work with students at the upper secondary level is an advantage.
