The Department of Children and Education encompasses preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, after-school care, secondary school, as well as adult education, integration, and labor market units. Currently, approximately 250 employees work within our department.
We lay the foundation for lifelong learning by offering safe care and stimulating learning environments. We actively work with guiding interactions and base our efforts on the children’s and students’ conditions and their personal abilities. We strive for high goal fulfillment and to ensure that every student has the best possible conditions for a safe and successful school experience. We provide our children and youth with meaningful leisure time through our after-school activities.
Lekeberg School F-6 is located in the central area of Fjugesta and has around 400 students. In addition to grades F-6 and after-school care, it also houses the municipality's adapted primary school. Lekeberg School was renovated in 2020. The school consists of a newly built section and an older section that has been remodeled. The sports hall and school restaurant have also been renovated.
**Job Responsibilities**
Do you want to be an important piece in the preventive and promotional work? Do you want to make a difference for educators and children in primary school together with colleagues? Then we think you should apply for the position of special educator at Lekeberg School F-6! You will work alongside another special educator and special teachers from an F-6 perspective. The role also includes working with our adapted primary school. Your main responsibilities will include:
• Guiding and providing consultative support to educators in their work with adaptations and special support
• Participating in the schools' development of accessible learning environments
• Conducting pedagogical assessments and investigations
• Contributing to the development and follow-up of action plans
• Collaborating with the student health team and external actors such as child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP), social services, and habilitation.
To create a calm, safe, and developmental work environment for both students and staff, we have a local student health service at the school. As a special educator, you will be part of the local student health team, where you will contribute and complement the group with your special educational expertise. The student health team includes you as the special educator, the principal, the school nurse, the counselor, and occasionally the school psychologist.
**Qualifications**
We are looking for someone who:
• Is a qualified special educator with a teaching degree
• Has experience working as a special educator
It is an advantage if you have experience in:
• Working with students with neuropsychiatric disorders (NPF)
• Guiding interactions (ICDP)
• Working in an adapted primary school
As a person, you are attentive, solution-focused, and have the ability to see developmental potential and opportunities instead of obstacles. Furthermore, you have a good ability to lead and organize work to create a conducive study environment and a good learning atmosphere for students. You maintain a professional demeanor and work towards building good relationships with our students, guardians, and all your colleagues at the school. You collaborate easily, feel secure even in challenging situations, and can adapt effortlessly to different types of tasks and situations. You possess strong leadership skills, are unpretentious, and communicate clearly, distinguishing between issues and individuals.
We also expect you to express yourself well in both spoken and written forms and to articulate clearly in assessments and action plans. You manage documentation in a professional, forward-looking, and clear manner.
