Job Opening: Special Education Teacher for Adapted School In Upplands-Bro Municipality, we are approximately 2,000 employees working to provide our residents and visitors with the best possible service and experience of the municipality. Råbyskolan in Bro is located near nature. It is an adapted school with both primary and upper secondary education. The upper secondary school program is an individualized program for an adapted upper secondary school. We have approximately 82 students and around 42 employees. We focus on early interventions, appropriate support and assistance, safety work, and welcome dialogue with guardians. We are now seeking a Special Education Teacher at Råby Adapted School who has great commitment and wants to work with students with intellectual disabilities. As a Special Education Teacher with us, you will play a central role in students' academic and social development. You will be responsible for creating a safe and structured teaching environment adapted to students' needs. You will work closely with teaching assistants and educators to create an inclusive environment where students can develop optimally. Key Responsibilities: - Plan, implement, and evaluate instruction according to current governing documents, adapting it to individual student needs - Work with students with intellectual disabilities and students with diagnoses such as ADHD and autism - Handle and respond to students with challenging behaviors in a solution-focused and low-arousal approach - Responsible for students' academic and social development by creating a stimulating and secure learning environment - Collaborate with other educators, teaching assistants, and guardians to support student development - Actively participate in school development work to continuously improve instruction and student health We Are Seeking Candidates Who: - Have a teaching license and special education training focusing on intellectual disabilities - Have previous experience working in adapted schools - Experience working with students with aggressive behavior is advantageous; experience working with children with special needs or in small group settings is also valued - Personal abilities will be given significant weight - To thrive in this role, you should be curious, confident, clear in your role, calm, extremely patient, experienced with students exhibiting challenging behaviors, and a classroom leader We Offer: Upplands-Bro Municipality provides the advantages of a small municipality, including short decision-making paths and significant opportunities to be involved in work development.
