About this role

**Description** Nordhemsskolan 2-9 is a prestigious school located in the heart of Linnéstaden, just a short distance from the city and Slottsskogen. You can easily reach us as the tram and bus networks converge at Järntorget, just north of the school. The school has over 800 students, of which about 200 are in the lower and middle school grades. Nordhemsskolan places a strong emphasis on learning, focusing on quality teaching in a safe environment. The school consists of a primary school and an adapted primary school, led by a team comprising a principal, three assistant principals, and over 110 staff members. Nordhemsskolan employs PALS - a school-wide approach based on relationship-building, clarity, and structure, applied both as a preventive measure and as direct intervention. **Job Responsibilities** We are now seeking a special education teacher for the adapted primary school, focusing on subjects for teaching in grades 7-9. You will be part of the team in the adapted primary school for grades 7-9, working alongside special education teachers and student assistants. You will be pedagogically responsible for the students' learning and will lead instruction with the support of student assistants. Your primary work will be in the class that studies subjects, but you are expected to collaborate closely with your colleagues in the other class. Your main task is to develop the students' learning and progress towards the goals of the adapted primary school. You will plan and implement teaching for the students, both individually and in collaboration with colleagues, and you will be responsible for assessment. **Qualifications** We are looking for someone who is an educated and certified special education teacher with a specialization in intellectual disabilities. Additionally, you should be qualified to teach in the adapted primary school for grades 7-9 in the subjects of mathematics, science, Swedish, English, and social studies. Having additional subject qualifications and previous experience as a special education teacher is an advantage. Experience in an adapted primary school setting is also beneficial for this position. You are friendly and helpful towards others, even in stressful situations. You show respect for everyone you encounter at work. You are inviting and positive. You work to ensure that each student receives what they need. You convey information and ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing, ensuring your message is understood. You adapt your communication according to the recipient, target group, and situation. You have a good understanding of how individuals acquire knowledge and their varying conditions. You adjust your communication style to suit the recipient and encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement. You collaborate well with others by listening, showing interest, and respecting your colleagues. You understand the shared mission and work towards achieving the best possible outcome. Welcome with your application! In this recruitment process, we will not require a personal letter as part of the application. Applicants will be asked to answer a series of questions where we invite you to describe your qualifications in the relevant areas. **Other Information** As an employee in our administration, you will be offered benefits such as wellness allowances, bicycle benefits, and employee support. According to the School Act, a police background check must be presented by individuals before they are employed in preschool, school, and school-age child care. You can request this from the Police's website. In preparation for this recruitment, we have considered recruitment channels, and therefore, we kindly ask not to receive further offers of competency brokering, advertising, or recruitment assistance. We only accept applications through our recruitment system in accordance with GDPR. **About Us** We are shaping the future in Gothenburg – one lesson at a time. Every day, thousands of children and youth come together in our schools – with them, we shape the future of Gothenburg. In the primary school administration, we are 10,000 dedicated staff working together to ensure every student succeeds and grows, regardless of their background or circumstances.
