Johan Skytteskolan is a school with high expectations and good educational outcomes. It is advantageous if you have previously worked with students in need of adjustments and special support. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. As a newly graduated teacher, you are entitled to a mentor during your first year, the induction period.
Your role
Johan Skytteskolan is seeking a special educator/pedagogue with a focus on mathematics or language, writing, and reading development for grades 7-9. The position is a parental substitute for 80%, with immediate start.
With us, you will be part of the school's student health team, which is also its own working group consisting of various professionals such as a counselor, school nurse, career and study guidance counselor, teaching assistants, and school leaders. You are expected to work closely with other special educators/pedagogues and subject teachers.
Within the group, responsibilities and tasks will be distributed, for example, for observations, documentation, and assignments related to students with problematic absenteeism. The role also includes supporting regular teachers in working with students in need of extra adjustments and special support. You will participate in development work concerning extra adjustments and special support with the aim of creating more inclusive learning environments throughout the school.
Your competence and experience
We are looking for someone who is a certified special educator with a focus on mathematics or language, writing, and reading development. You should have work experience and preferably experience as a special educator.
Desirable experience/knowledge
Experience working with students with neuropsychiatric disabilities.
Good knowledge of guidance and stimulation, extra adjustments, and special support.
Good understanding of dyscalculia.
Strong skills and experience in conducting screenings, writing evaluations, and action programs.
You should have the competence/ability to:
Lead and organize work to create a safe learning environment.
Assess how effective various teaching strategies and adjustments are, and adapt instruction accordingly in consultation with subject teachers.
Involve the student in planning and develop their ability to learn, both independently and collaboratively.
Assimilate results from current research and development work.
View collegial learning as a fundamental basis for creating new and deeper knowledge.
Collaborate and have a goal of developing together.
