About this role
Do you want to make a difference? Then you might be the one we are looking for as an employee at Sollefteå Municipality. Here, you are close to magnificent nature and small-town charm, and you can enjoy a varied leisure and cultural life.
It is important to us that you feel your work is meaningful and that you see your role in the bigger picture. You will contribute to the development of the organization towards the municipality's overarching vision and goals.
People with a strong belief in the future live here; welcome to us!
Vallaskolan is centrally located in the town of Sollefteå. The school serves approximately 500 students across two administrative areas: grades 4-9 and adapted primary school. For the upcoming school year, there will be 22 classes in the primary school. The school leadership consists of one principal and two vice principals, who also teach as part of their roles. There are about 37 teaching positions, including special education teachers and teachers in a special education group (Studio) and the preparatory program for newly arrived students (Språkstudio). Additionally, there are several student hosts and resource personnel. In administration, student health, library, IT, and maintenance, there are several other staff members. Three of the teachers are lead teachers, who have a broader role at the municipal level and, at the principal's request, also lead development work at the school. The competence of the staff is highly valued by the school leadership, and there are good opportunities for professional development within the organization.
The organization is structured into grade teams. Close collaboration among teachers within the teams and with students facilitates proactive and preventive student health work, joint assessments, interdisciplinary work, and other schedule-breaking activities. As a teacher, you will also be part of subject teams with others teaching the same subject. In the subject team, student work is jointly assessed, common planning is created, and student results and evaluations are analyzed together. The school also has a program for newly arrived students integrated with a special teaching environment.
Sollefteå Municipality has made significant progress in digitalization. All students have access to a Chromebook, and we extensively use Google's educational services in our teaching. We also have access to digital teaching materials in most subjects, all classrooms are equipped with projectors, and all teachers have their own Chromebooks. Using technology as a tool to promote learning and goal achievement is a given at the school.
The unit has a well-developed student health service with special education teachers, teachers from the Studio, two counselors, two school nurses, a study and career counselor, and access to a school psychologist on a consultative basis. The school has well-developed strategies for proactive and preventive student health work, in which student health is included in the teams' EHM (Student Health Meetings). The structure of the combined competence contributes to strengthening students in their development both academically and socially.
There is always an IT technician on site, and the school library is well-staffed every day of the week.
We are now looking for someone who wants to work at a school that leads rather than follows development, who wants to be involved in collegial learning, and who wants to contribute their expertise to the school's continued development.

Based on your profession, you will be part of the school's strategic student health team and contribute through a consultative approach to collegial learning. Together with school leadership, student health, and work teams, you will participate in the school's student health meetings (EHM) to help create good learning environments for the school's students.
At the principal's request, you will establish and implement assessments and action plans for students who need specific support and stimulation to meet the school's goals.
