About this role
Welcome to Bergs Municipality - Municipality of the Year 2024!
In our municipality, two-thirds of the population live outside our urban areas, and we do not see our sparseness as an obstacle, but as an opportunity! Here you'll find magnificent nature nearby, a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and an active cultural and community life. For those who want city amenities and communications, Östersund is just a stone's throw away. The South Sami culture, reindeer herding, and language are an important part of the municipality's identity.
As an employer, all municipal activities are based on our five governing principles: together, courage, effectiveness, communication, and long-term thinking. These principles are designed to be our compass and guidance in always promoting trust and a good organizational culture with citizens at the center.
On bergsliv.se, we have collected inspiring stories about people living in the municipality and facts about our urban areas. Welcome to find your dream life with us in Bergs Municipality!

Warm welcome to our adapted primary school in Svenstavik! We are seeking a committed colleague with special education expertise who wants to help create a safe, developing, and meaningful school day for our students.
Job Responsibilities
As a special education teacher and pedagogue, your primary task is to plan, implement, and follow up on instruction for our students. You will work closely with other school staff to support each student's knowledge development and create the best possible learning conditions.
Together as a team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining meaningful and adapted instruction, where student development, learning, and influence are at the center. We strive to ensure that every child has fun, feels safe, and has the opportunity to grow based on their own conditions.
You will also be involved in systematic quality work and actively contribute to the school's collegial learning processes – to collectively create a strong and sustainable pedagogical operation.
Qualifications

The equal value of all people has a clear meaning for you, and you see diversity as enriching. We place great importance on personal suitability based on these qualities.
We Offer
Working in Bergs Municipality means becoming part of an organization in constant development and forward movement. Our employees are our most important resource, and we value you for your unique competence and experience.
We have a benefits portal with various offers, wellness allowances, and the opportunity for wellness hours.
We may conduct interviews on an ongoing basis, so do not wait too long to submit your application. Start date January 8, 2026, or by agreement.
Warm welcome to us at Svenstavik School – your new colleagues and students are waiting for you!
