About this role

What You Will Do As a special education teacher at Östergård School, you will play a key role in the school's student health efforts. You will work both preventively and remedially, individually and collaboratively with colleagues, to create the best conditions for all students' learning and development. Your responsibilities include, among others: • Investigating and mapping students' knowledge development and needs • Teaching and providing adapted instruction, either individually or in smaller groups • Guiding and supporting colleagues in their work with additional adaptations and special support • Participating in the student health team and collaborating with guardians • Following up, documenting, and evaluating interventions You need to have a holistic view of student learning and the ability to adapt your work based on individual needs. Your Experience You are a licensed special education teacher for grades 4-6 with a focus on language, writing, and reading development, and you have experience working in this area as well as with neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPF). We also welcome candidates with a broad subject competence within primary education. You have experience working with students of various ages and with diverse needs. You possess leadership skills and are communicative. You collaborate easily and view the work team and other staff as valuable assets. You have analytical skills and see problem-solving as part of your daily routine. You have a strong ability to build relationships, create trust, and contribute to a positive learning environment. The school has approximately 650 students in grades 4-9, along with an associated after-school program.
