About this role
Stockholm – our capital city filled with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for someone who wants to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Welcome to us
Kvarnbyskolan's vision is to be an attractive school for our students and employees, where we meet each day with excellence.
Kvarnbyskolan is a primary school (grades F - 6) with approximately 310 students, including an adapted primary school. The school is located in Rinkeby and has suitable facilities about 5 minutes from the subway. Kvarnbyskolan boasts a complete student health team and a staffed school library.
The adapted primary school is situated within the main school's premises, and we work towards inclusion based on the abilities of all students. We have two focuses: one on subjects and one on subject areas.
Your role
The adapted primary school at Kvarnbyskolan is in its startup phase, and we are looking for someone who wants to help build the best school for our students! We seek an individual with experience working with students in adapted primary education. We are currently looking for a special education teacher with a focus on adapted primary education as we open for students who study with a focus on subjects as well as those who study with a focus on subject areas.
You are expected to plan, implement, and evaluate teaching, as well as maintain relevant student documentation.
Your skills and experience
We are looking for someone with a good, ethical approach towards students and colleagues, who is driven, a good team player, and passionate about children's learning and development! You should be a competent educator who constantly seeks new pathways for learning and is knowledgeable about the adapted school curriculum. A great deal of patience is essential. You will plan, implement, and evaluate your teaching based on the adapted primary school's curriculum.
You have a healthy perspective that all students develop based on their circumstances, monitor students' progress, and strive towards it. It is important that you build good relationships with both students and their guardians. You will continuously collaborate with other teachers and student assistants. You will work together and co-plan with other educators in the adapted primary school. You are expected to be a leader in the classroom.
Working as a teacher in an adapted primary school offers unique and meaningful opportunities to influence and contribute to children's development. As a teacher, you will help create a positive and developing environment with a good balance of care and learning – therefore, we place great importance on personal suitability.
