Björktorpsskolan consists of two school buildings, Forskaren 1 and Forskaren 2, with a large, wonderful schoolyard between them. The school has approximately 580 students from preschool to grade 6.
Our key words are cooperation and collaboration. You rarely work alone here. We are centrally located in Eskilstuna, close to green areas, the train station, and downtown. RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Special Education Teacher, you will plan, implement, and evaluate instruction. You will adapt it to students' needs and conditions. You are also responsible for teaching specifically targeted to students needing support. In your instruction, you will use visual aids and other pedagogical tools, as well as learning platforms and digital tools. In this role, you will work in the classroom with teachers, in smaller groups, and with individual students in grades 4-6. An important part is supporting teachers in adapting instruction so all students can succeed.
You are part of the student health team and collaborate with other professional roles in student health and teachers to create good learning conditions. Here, you will provide guidance and participate in mapping and screenings in core subjects. When needed, you will also meet with students and their guardians.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking someone with a teaching certification for grades 1-6 and a special education degree, or currently completing a special education program. To succeed in the role, you should have experience teaching according to the current curriculum Lgr22. Experience supporting and mentoring colleagues is a plus. You should express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and use digital tools in your teaching.
