Welcome to us Workplace Description Solhemsskolan is located in Spånga, about a five-minute walk from Spånga Centrum. You can easily reach us by commuter train from, among other places, T-Centralen. Spånga C has many bus lines available to our local area. Solhemsskolan is a four-parallel F-6 school with approximately 760 students and 105 staff members. Solhemsskolan consists of two school units, Solhemsskolan and Solhemsängens skola. The school management team includes a principal, three assistant principals, and an administrative manager. Your Role As a special education teacher, you will primarily work in close, guiding collaboration with the responsible classroom teachers. You will guide students based on their needs and support teachers in finding complementary tools and methods for successful teaching. Students' knowledge and abilities will be assessed in various ways throughout the school year, and your complementary expertise in special education as well as guidance/advisory work will be crucial for optimizing students' learning! As a special education teacher: • you will be part of our special education team, which regularly holds its own meetings and meetings with the school management. • you will contribute to the overall development of the school in the area of accessibility. • you will be a key player in student health work, participating in and leading discussions with guardians and students as needed. • you will have the competence to screen/map students' knowledge development in various areas. • you will work with students in classrooms, individually or in smaller groups. Who and where you work within the organization will vary based on students' needs. In the upcoming term, the placement will be for grades 4-6. Our development work includes a particular focus on ensuring that our expertise is present where the students are, that is, in the classroom. You are experienced with a professional approach and possess good didactic and pedagogical skills. You have knowledge of relevant digital tools and experience in writing educational assessments and action plans. Your Competence and Experience We are looking for someone who has a teaching license and a special education degree with a focus on language, writing, and reading development. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. You have good collaboration skills and can build strong relationships, as the work involves many points of contact with students, staff, and guardians. You are attentive, independent, and possess strong collaborative abilities. You also have a good ability to structure and analyze your work to be part of the remedial efforts. We are looking for someone with: - a well-founded view of students and knowledge that aligns with the current curriculum. - good knowledge regarding students' various needs in the learning environment and how to remove obstacles. - advanced knowledge in reading and writing difficulties. - the ability to independently drive student cases forward. - knowledge and insight into the importance of good collaboration between students, parents, school staff, and school management. As a special education teacher, you will collaborate with the student health team in the school's operational development and support the management in working with students in need of special support. Work experience as a special education teacher is a requirement. It is advantageous if you have worked as a special education teacher for grades 4-6 and have experience with language and knowledge-developing approaches as well as screening work.
