von Bahrs School is an F-9 school with currently around 600 students and approximately 75 employees in various categories. The school offers fine and purpose-built facilities and has a high proportion of qualified teachers and competent staff. The school also has a complete student health team and a social pedagogue. The management consists of a principal and two deputy principals. Here, you will encounter cultural diversity where we see differences as an asset. Job Description
You will be part of our student health team, contributing specialized pedagogical expertise. As a special education teacher, you will help ensure students receive the guidance and stimulation they need in their learning and personal development. This is to enable students to develop as far as possible according to educational goals, based on their own conditions. Within your work, you are expected to propose interventions and adaptations for students in need of support and participate in creating pedagogical assessments and action plans.
You will also work practically by providing student support interventions such as individual, group, and regular classroom teaching. Additionally, you will have a consulting and mentoring role for colleagues. In close collaboration, you will develop school work regarding adaptations for student goal achievement together with teachers, educators, and school management.
The work involves numerous contact points with students, staff, and guardians. You need to be comfortable speaking in front of large groups of guardians and staff to contribute your expertise in various forums.
The lead teacher assignment is a time-limited two-year position. In this role, you will lead the special education teacher group and collectively drive the school's work on investigations and documentation. The assignment will also involve driving work on accessible learning environments.
Qualifications
We are seeking someone with a Swedish teaching license, special education teacher degree, and several years of teaching experience at the primary school level. To succeed in the role, you need experience working with students requiring special support and knowledge of good learning environments. The work requires excellent oral and written Swedish skills. You must also have good knowledge of the National Agency for Education's governing documents and curriculum.
We prefer candidates with a special education teacher degree focusing on mathematics. Experience in pedagogical guidance is considered meritorious.
As a person, you are pedagogical and understand different individuals' abilities to acquire knowledge. You are communicative, good at listening, and able to adapt your communication style. Furthermore, you are outgoing and socially active in professional contexts. The job suits someone who collaborates and relates to others in a sensitive and smooth manner.
