Job Responsibilities
We are now seeking a Special Education Teacher interested in a new assignment at Apelgårdsskolan!
At Apelgårdsskolan, student health work is the responsibility of the entire school to create the best school for every student. Through various forums, you will be responsible for the important work of creating accessible learning environments for all students at the school. In this role, you will primarily work with grades 4-9, with the majority focused on years 4-6, potentially teaching partially in a flexible special education group.
You will support teachers in identifying students' needs and organizing instruction that meets all students' requirements. We strive for good collaboration where student health professionals and teachers are given the opportunity to work together on guidance, stimulation, and support measures. You will be responsible for and develop support interventions in close collaboration with work teams. You will lead professional development based on the school's systematic quality work.
You will plan and implement teaching, assessment, guidance, and observations at individual and group levels as needed. You are responsible for the special support process and related documentation, including educational assessments, action plans, and follow-up and evaluation.
You will be part of the student health team alongside special education teachers, school nurses, counselors, school psychologists, and school management, collaborating with educators, guardians, and other external stakeholders.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate has a Special Education Teacher degree, preferably with a focus on language, writing, and reading. Previous experience as a primary school teacher is required, preferably with early literacy learning. Experience working as a special education teacher or special education coordinator is meritorious. Experience with The Simple View of Reading is also advantageous.
You have insight and knowledge of school development and school governance documents and can apply them in your daily work. You have acquired knowledge and experience in supervision/training, student health work, and working with documentation - educational assessments, adaptations, and special support/action plans. Knowledge of neuropsychiatric functional variations (NPF) is meritorious.
You have strong didactic and pedagogical skills and can lead and organize work with students to create a calm study environment and positive learning atmosphere throughout the day.
Based on evidence-based research, we seek someone who can develop their work and is familiar with and knowledgeable about using relevant digital tools. You naturally have a professional approach and work to build good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.
