Job Responsibilities
We are now seeking a special education teacher specializing in mathematics development for grades 4-6. As a special education teacher, you will primarily focus on planning and implementing instruction based on identified needs. In collaboration with the special education coordinator, you will conduct assessments, provide guidance, and observe individual students and groups. You will become part of the grades 4-6 team. You will collaborate with colleagues, student health services, school management, and interact with other stakeholders and guardians. As a special education teacher, you will contribute to the school's organizational development and provide support to management in working with students requiring special assistance.
Qualifications
We are looking for a licensed primary school teacher with a special education degree specializing in mathematics/science for grades 4-6. Additional certification to teach Swedish is advantageous. Previous experience working as a special education teacher in grades 4-6 is merit-worthy. You need to have in-depth understanding and knowledge of school policy documents and the ability to apply them in your daily work.
It is crucial that you have strong didactic and pedagogical skills, as well as knowledge of relevant digital tools. To be a suitable special education teacher with us, it is important to have comprehensive knowledge of students' diverse needs in the learning environment, how to remove obstacles, and experience working with students with various functional variations. You can develop your work based on evidence-based research.
You have the ability to lead and organize work to create a calm study environment throughout the day. Furthermore, you have a strong ability to structure and analyze your work and build positive relationships with students, guardians, and school staff.

Mellanhedsskolan serves students from preschool through 9th grade, including an adapted elementary school for grades 1-9. Approximately 1,100 students attend the school. Mellanhedsskolan operates in two buildings. Mellanheden 1 serves grades preschool-3, while Mellanheden 2 serves grades 4-9.
