Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Surgery and Orthopedics Department
The Surgery and Orthopedics Department at Kungälv Hospital includes clinics for surgery, orthopedics, and urology, an oncology clinic, a gynecological clinic, and two care wards focused on surgery and orthopedics.
About the Position
We are seeking an engaged nurse for a combination position at our oncology and surgical clinics. You will work with cancer patients and surgical day care in a team with high competence and close collaboration. The position offers an opportunity to develop within our clinic operations in oncology/surgery. For the right person, there is potential to develop within inpatient care at our surgical ward. As part of our team, you will have an exciting and varied role with opportunities for professional and personal growth. You will be an important part of our operations, providing care from initial contact through treatment and inpatient care.
Your Responsibilities
You will make a difference every day by providing support and care to patients undergoing cancer treatment and surgical day care. You will work with advanced treatments and administer medications such as cytostatics and immunotherapy with precision and confidence. In your role, you will be close to the patient, monitor their condition, and act quickly in case of changes, thus contributing to a safe care environment. You will strengthen and inform by guiding patients and their relatives through diagnosis and treatment plans, always with empathy and clarity. The work involves close collaboration with colleagues from different professions, participating in multidisciplinary meetings and jointly developing care. Your expertise is crucial.
Qualifications
You are a licensed specialist nurse in oncology or surgery with at least 3 years of experience in oncological or surgical care – or a licensed nurse with at least 3 years of experience working with cancer patients or in a surgical clinic.
Merits that make you especially valuable to our team include cytostatics certification and/or contact nurse training. Knowledge of healthcare IT systems is also advantageous – we work with systems such as Melior, ELVIS, Cytobase, and 1177.
