The Special Logistics Group (SLG) is the operational logistics resource within the Swedish Armed Forces' Special Operations Forces (FMSF), tasked with responsibilities in areas such as logistics management, host nation support, supply provision, transport services, and technical services at operational and tactical levels. SLG is also engaged in capability development for unmanned systems to meet the logistical needs of FMSF. SLG operates across the entire conflict spectrum, participating in both national and international missions alongside other components of FMSF. SLG has locations in both Örebro and Skövde.
**Working with the Special Operations Forces - Swedish Armed Forces**
**Main Responsibilities**
Working as a specialist mechanic at SLG involves solving tasks during missions, exercises, and daily operations. Tasks will need to be addressed across the entire conflict spectrum and will vary in nature. Flexibility, precision, analytical skills, and technical understanding are prerequisites for achieving expected results. After completing the selection process, you will initially undergo a training phase for several months before joining one of our operational units as a specialist mechanic. Technical training will be conducted continuously on relevant equipment within FMSF. The main responsibilities include conventional and unconventional repairs of unit equipment such as vehicles, weapons, optronics, and electronics, as well as other materials. There are significant opportunities for development and influence within your area of work. Work is primarily conducted in smaller groups or independently.
**Qualifications**
- Completed military service or basic military training
- Preliminary grades accepted for applicants currently undergoing military service
- Driver's license B
- Swedish citizenship
**Medical Requirements**
- No serious allergies
- No illnesses requiring continuous or recurring medication/treatment
- Reduced color vision may be accepted
- Acceptable visual acuity, correction allowed
- Normal hearing
**Meritorious**
- Civil work experience in mechanics and technology
- Basic military training (GU/GMU) with a technical focus
- Mechanic training, civilian or military
- Driver's license categories BE, C, CE
- Military driver's license for heavy vehicles
- Completed international mission
- Proven competence in repairing optical/optronic equipment
- Proven competence in repairing electronics
- Proven competence in repairing weapons
- Forklift license A-B-C
- Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English

**Selection Process**
Those deemed suitable after the application process will be invited to selection tests. The selection tests are divided into two parts and will take place over approximately seven days at the end of March and in April 2026. The first part is a field exercise lasting three days. Those assessed as suitable after the first part will be invited to a second part, primarily testing the personal, psychological, and medical profiles. Information regarding working hours, travel, and equipment will be provided in connection with an invitation to the selection test.
**Other Information**
The position is full-time, permanent, with a start date of August 1, 2026, and training commencing on August 3, 2026. The role involves recurring travel both domestically and internationally.
Work location: Skövde.
