We are now welcoming a specialist physician in orthopedics with interest and knowledge to develop within the field of orthopedics at our Joint Prosthetics Section in Lund.
The Orthopedics Care Area (VO) at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) provides acute and elective orthopedic healthcare with both district and regional responsibilities. The overall goal of the organization is to provide orthopedic healthcare of the highest international standard through research, development, and teaching at an international level, as well as through internal quality assurance and participation in national registers. Our VO operates in Lund, Malmö, and Trelleborg.
WORK TASKS
At the orthopedic joint prosthetics section at Sus, approximately 13 orthopedic physicians work with positions as specialists, deputy chief physicians, and chief physicians. As a specialist physician with us, you will work in operating rooms, clinics, and hospital wards. You will work clinically and will also support clinical research within the organization. This position includes responsibility for the ward in Lund as the unit's lead physician with regular placement in the ward. This work is combined with responsibility for substitute physicians. In your role, you will also work with Skåne's Digital Healthcare System (SDV) for 30 percent of your time. Additionally, participation in on-call duties is included.
The primary location is Lund, but the work involves travel and service throughout the entire care area.
QUALIFICATIONS
You who are applying should be a licensed physician authorized to practice within Swedish healthcare. Furthermore, you should have specialist competence in orthopedics. Swedish language skills at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement. You should have completed or planned a course in clinical supervision. The position requires on-call competence at primary and house call levels. Ongoing research work is meritorious, as is service at an orthopedic joint prosthetics unit after specialist examination.

At a university healthcare unit, physicians must have pedagogical experience and education. This can be acquired through supervision of nursing and medical students, physicians in training, and as co-supervisor or main supervisor of doctoral students. Clearly describe in your application completed or planned pedagogical courses, experience with supervision, and teaching at various levels.
