At Region Dalarna, you will find a meaningful job where you can make a difference. Together, we work towards a sustainable Dalarna with development potential in all parts of the county.
The urgent care center operates around the clock with a drop-in service and functions similarly to other emergency departments, utilizing a triage team and a field team. We assess patients according to a standardized assessment system called RETTS. Since opening, patient flow has increased, and today we receive approximately 60-80 patients per day, 120-160 ambulance transports per month, and between 80-90 admissions per month to the local care department located at Ludvika Hospital. During daytime hours from Monday to Sunday, two doctors are on duty simultaneously. Day shift 1 always has a broad specialist or senior resident, while day shift 2 has a permanently employed resident in emergency medicine, along with other training physicians from different specialties. Day shift 1 primarily handles patients in a medical flow (medicine, infection, cardiology, neurology; all ages). Day shift 2 primarily manages patients in a surgical flow (orthopedics, surgery, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, gynecology; all ages). However, we often work without strict lines and distribute the broad patient flow among ourselves, of course within the framework of our competencies and experiences. After 5 PM, when the night shift begins, we work without strict lines, meaning that all patients are attended to in order of priority regardless of which flow they are registered in.
