We are now looking for a specialist physician with an interest in leadership for our geriatrics section at Akademiska sjukhuset in Uppsala. Our Operations The area of geriatrics, rehabilitation medicine, and the pain center is characterized by multidisciplinary teams – something we are very proud of. We have a broad mandate where high competence and strong commitment are common denominators. The geriatrics section is multifaceted and includes both inpatient care (geriatric acute care, ortogeriatrics, and neurogeriatrics) and outpatient care (memory and geriatrics clinic). We also conduct education, research, and quality development. One of our departments is a clinical education department (KUA), which means we have a special focus on supervision and learning. Your Mission As a specialist physician with us, you will primarily work within inpatient care, which includes on-call duties. Outpatient work may also be relevant. You will have overall responsibility for patient care and lead the medical work in close collaboration with other professional groups. You will contribute to the development of care processes together with the management and team members of the organization. The position may also include a medical leadership role in one of our units, where you will have the opportunity to ensure quality and develop medical processes in close collaboration with the section manager, department head, and other staff members. An important part of the mission is to supervise and teach resident and specialist training physicians as well as students – thereby contributing to the next generation of healthcare competence. Your Qualifications We are looking for someone who is a specialist in geriatrics or has other relevant specialist competence deemed suitable for the role. If you have specialist competence other than geriatrics, it is required that you complement this with geriatric competence within the framework of the position.
