About this role

Workplace Imaging and Functional Diagnostics (BFD) in Värmland is a dynamic and technically advanced operation encompassing radiology, mammography, and clinical physiology. Radiology clinics are located in five locations in Värmland: Karlstad, Torsby, Arvika, Kristinehamn, and Säffle. As a radiologist in Värmland, you'll become part of a team consisting of 25 specialists/senior physicians and 15 residents in the county. The operation is jointly organized with an overall manager, scheduler, and coordinator, which creates good conditions for collaboration and knowledge exchange. In Torsby, there is one specialist and two residents, but employees closely collaborate regardless of their location. Torsby Hospital operates 24/7, with both acute and elective examinations. The equipment in Torsby includes computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), fluoroscopy equipment, bone lab, and ultrasound lab. Here, different departments are in close proximity, and there's a strong team spirit between radiology, clinics, and the emergency department. In Torsby, you'll have the opportunity to combine a stimulating work environment with a nature-oriented life. Beautiful forests, lakes, and mountains are within reach – perfect for those who appreciate outdoor activities, tranquility, and community. Torsby offers good schools, affordable housing, and a strong local community with proximity to services and culture. Torsby Hospital is known for its strong cohesion and close collaboration between clinics, and your expertise will make a real difference for patients. Your Responsibilities As a radiologist in Torsby, you'll work broadly within general radiology, performing image review and examinations in conventional X-ray, computed tomography, and ultrasound. Tasks vary and include rounds, multidisciplinary conferences (MDK), further education, and supervision of residents and rotating colleagues. On-call duty during evenings and weekends is part of the position. In Värmland, there are three on-call lines for radiologists: primary on-call, backup on-call, and remote on-call, enabling a flexible and sustainable on-call organization. Nighttime external review is conducted via Teleconsult, both on weekdays and weekends. Your primary location will be in Torsby, but work at other hospitals in the county is possible by agreement. Opportunities for remote work exist to the extent the operation allows. We work in Sectra RIS/PACS and have county-wide work lists, creating a close collegial and flexible collaboration among radiologists across the region. Your Knowledge and Competencies We're seeking candidates with a Swedish medical license and specialist competence in radiology. You should have excellent Swedish language skills, both spoken and written. Experience with conventional X-ray, CT, and ultrasound, and basic competence in ultrasound intervention. Experience with magnetic resonance imaging is meritorious. We place great emphasis on personal qualities such as collaboration ability, commitment, and a positive, solution-oriented approach. You have the ability to make decisions and know how to structure your tasks independently. Additionally, you are well-updated in your field and can contribute your expertise to colleagues.
