About this role
About Us
Regionhälsan is seeking a specialist physician in psychiatry for a shared position between the Assessment Team in Borås and the Crisis and Trauma Reception in Gothenburg.
The Assessment Team conducts activity capacity assessments (AFU) on behalf of the Social Insurance Agency and evaluations of functional and activity capacity based on referrals from both primary care and specialist care, with the aim of supporting treating physicians. The patients we see are either on sick leave or at risk of becoming so. Each professional in our team - occupational therapists, physiotherapists, physicians, and psychologists - contributes their expertise. A strong emphasis is placed on teamwork, where everyone's competence is vital.
The Crisis and Trauma Reception is a specialized clinic for victims of war and torture. The unit collaborates closely with the Refugee Children's Reception and the Refugee Medical Reception. These units constitute Regionhälsan's knowledge hub in the area of migration-related health issues - the refugee units. Our work includes investigation, treatment, and rehabilitation of victims of war and torture and their families. We accept patients with a full spectrum of trauma-related diagnoses. The assignment also includes consultation, supervision, method development, and training within our field of expertise. Our work is also team-based - we are a competent and creative team of twelve individuals consisting of psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists, physiotherapists, and medical secretaries.
About the Role
As a physician in the Borås Assessment Team, you will conduct evaluations in a cross-professional team. The physician's role is clearly defined and the responsibilities are well delineated. Every day, you will encounter new patients and complete assignments, making the work varied. Investigations and referral responses are collaboratively created through dialogue.
At the Crisis and Trauma Reception, the work encompasses qualified medical assessments with a particular focus on diagnostics. Responsibilities include evaluating and optimizing medication treatment for our patients as well as writing medical certificates, often in close collaboration with primary and specialist care. The role also involves providing consultation regarding patients at the Refugee Medical Reception. At the Crisis and Trauma Reception, you will follow patients over time alongside treating psychologists, psychotherapists, and/or physiotherapists.
One target group we encounter in both operations consists of patients whose limited functional capacity is compounded by factors such as trauma, language difficulties, and lack of educational background, which complicates assessment and investigation. Through closer collaboration between our services, we can offer this group earlier and better assessments that take multiple angles into account, resulting in more precise treatments and interventions.
About You
We are looking for a specialist physician in psychiatry. You have a strong interest and preferably experience working with patients facing complex issues related to pain, mental health/trauma, and migration-related health problems. You are attracted by the breadth of the assignment and the opportunity to be part of the community at two workplaces. You are structured in your work and possess a good ability to communicate your assessments to both patients and other healthcare providers. Experience in supervision, training, and method development is relevant. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
To be qualified to issue Activity Capacity Assessments (AFU), you need to have completed the Social Insurance Agency's advanced training in insurance medicine. If you do not have this training, we will offer it to you. The training is conducted regularly and is funded by the employer.
Conditions
The work is based at the Crisis and Trauma Reception, which has facilities in central Gothenburg. Half of the work time will be at the Borås Assessment Team, where you will also be present two days a week.
We warmly welcome your application!
