Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is a leading independent school group with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff. Teaching is conducted in both Swedish and English, and the hallways are bilingual. The language of meetings and communication among the staff is English. Internationella Engelska Skolan in Johanneberg is now seeking a special educator starting in January 2026. Internationella Engelska Skolan in Kungsbacka is a bilingual school for students in grades 6-9. Our school offers a safe and orderly environment, and we are committed to helping every child reach their full potential. We are looking for a special educator with a strong commitment to students' learning, health, and development. The role includes working towards a well-functioning student health service to support students' development towards educational goals. The main responsibilities include: - Mapping the needs of students and groups - Working directly with individual students in small groups - Planning, implementing, and evaluating interventions - Being responsible for the school's establishment and follow-up of educational investigations, action plans with relevant stakeholders, applications for additional funding, and educational assessments for applications to other school forms. - Making interventions and development work accessible and following up at the school, group, and individual levels for the relevant students. - Coordinating the work with transitions for students who are starting and leaving the school - Participating in the school's systematic quality work. - Documenting in Prorenata. Qualifications: We are looking for someone who has a teaching license and further education as a special educator. You have prior experience working with children and adolescents. Previous experience as a teacher and special educator in primary school is an advantage. Very good Swedish and English, both spoken and written, is a requirement for the position. The work requires that you are confident in your professional role, can work independently, are proactive, and have a good ability to see opportunities in various situations. As a person, you have a good demeanor and a strong ability to plan and prioritize your work. You possess good collaboration skills and an interest in working together in teams with various professional categories. Your approach is relational and focused on health-promoting and preventive work. You are flexible, attentive, and have an easy time building trust and good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. We place great importance on your personal qualities. Who are you? - You are a qualified special educator with experience working with grades 4-9. - It is an advantage if you have a primary school teacher education and are familiar with the Swedish National Agency for Education's governing documents. - You have knowledge of and share the values and ethos of Internationella Engelska Skolan.
