Description
The Recycling Business Area currently has about 50 employees, distributed across collection, recycling centers, and the Djupdal waste facility.
We handle approximately 80,000 tons of waste annually in a sustainable manner, of which about 20,000 tons consists of food and residual waste. We face many exciting challenges in the coming years and need your help in this interesting and developing work.

Responsibilities
In your role as a waste collector, you will be part of a team of about 22 people where collaboration, community, and a willingness to take responsibility are prerequisites for success in our sustainability efforts. In your daily work, you will support and assist our customers in sorting waste correctly. Therefore, it is important that you are service-oriented and that customer interactions energize you. As a waste collector, you are one of the key individuals in our sustainability work by environmentally responsibly collecting waste throughout the municipality.
Working as a waste collector means you will be active and work outdoors – perfect for those who enjoy an active job in the fresh air. To make the workday smoother, we have a modern fleet of vehicles equipped with new, innovative solutions that facilitate the work and contribute to a good working environment.
The role also includes ongoing safety work, vehicle maintenance, and various documentation via digital tools, such as reporting deviations. You will also contribute to the company in other ways by participating in meetings, receiving information, and contributing to a safe, secure, and open working environment.
As a waste collector at Karlstads Energi, you are responsible for:
- Ensuring our customers have a good customer experience.

Qualifications
As a person, you are service-oriented, positive, and thrive when working with others. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy actively working with your colleagues to continuously improve and streamline your work environment and operations.
Your education is at least at the high school level. Knowledge of waste management is advantageous. We are a public organization and have significant contact with people. Therefore, experience in communicating with customers and maintaining a customer focus is beneficial.
For the position, you need:
- A C driver's license and YKB (Professional Driver Certificate)
- To be able to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing
- Basic computer skills
Experience driving side-loaders is a merit.
The position is a permanent employment with an initial 6-month probationary period.
