Description
We are currently seeking summer substitutes for personal assistance within Älvkarleby Municipality, where you will have the opportunity to work in a stimulating and meaningful role where you can truly make a difference in people's lives.
Personal assistance fundamentally involves engagement for another person who needs help and support with various aspects of daily life.
Within Älvkarleby Municipality's personal assistance, approximately 40 personal assistants work to be available for our clients at any time of day. Our personal assistance services are divided into two different units, and together we operate throughout the municipality.
Job Responsibilities
In personal assistance, you will work closely with our clients, providing help with personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, transfers, cooking, exercise, household management, and activities. As a personal assistant, you provide support and help the client create structure and security in their daily life.
Working hours vary, and there may be night shifts as well as on-call duties. The work may also be performed with several different clients. Working in personal assistance often involves working alone. You will frequently work in the client's own home. There are both child and adult cases, and if you work with child assistance cases, you will work closely with families and guardians.
Your responsibilities will also include performing social documentation and participating in the establishment of individual care plans.
Transportation may involve walking, driving, or cycling.
Qualifications
It is important that you enjoy meeting, supporting, and helping other people. Being attentive, humble, and respectful of the equal value of all individuals are essential qualities. The job involves communication and documentation. Therefore, you need to have proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, and be accustomed to using a computer. Knowledge of the Swedish language equivalent to SFI course D is required.
Since the work often involves working alone, we are looking for someone who is confident, independent, and meticulous. You are calm, kind-hearted, and maintain a professional approach. You put the client at the center, are responsible, and possess good collaboration skills. The work as a personal assistant can be physically demanding, so it is important that you have good physical ability.
If you have studied in the Care Program or have other education and experience that we consider equivalent, this is an advantage.
A B driver's license is advantageous; in certain assistance cases, it is also a requirement.
The work involves day, evening, and weekend shifts, and in some services, also night shifts. We would prefer that you can work for a significant part of the summer to ensure continuity for both you and the service.
For work within Älvkarleby Municipality's care services, a criminal record extract is required.
