Description
We are currently seeking summer substitutes for Älvkarleby Municipality's disability care – a meaningful job where you can make a difference in people's daily lives.
With us, you will have the opportunity to work closely with individuals, build relationships, and help create security, joy, and development.
Disability care consists of several different services, including group homes, daily activities, personal support, housing support, and short-term accommodation for children and young people. Together, we are about 35 dedicated employees who strive every day to support individuals based on their unique needs and circumstances.
You will find a warm and welcoming work environment where we help each other and share experiences. We believe in participation, respect, and that everyone can grow – both those we serve and those who work here.
Responsibilities
As a summer substitute in our disability care, you will play an important role in creating a meaningful daily life for individuals with various disabilities. The work may involve everything from providing support in daily tasks, accompanying individuals to activities, assisting with communication and participation, to providing personal care support. The work also varies depending on the area you are assigned to.
No two days are the same – and that is what makes the job both enjoyable and rewarding. You will have the opportunity to use your creativity and engagement to contribute to the safety and quality of life for those you meet. You will work closely with colleagues who are eager to share their experiences and are always there if you need advice or support.
Working hours vary, and there may be night shifts as well as on-call duties. The work may also take place in different types of services.
Qualifications
It is important that you enjoy meeting, supporting, and helping others. Being attentive, humble, and respectful of the equal value of all individuals are essential qualities. The job involves communication and documentation, so you need to be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written, and be comfortable using a computer.
We are looking for someone who is caring, attentive, and has a genuine interest in people. You should be able to collaborate easily but also take responsibility and feel confident making decisions based on the situation.
Previous experience in disability care or education in the field is advantageous. You will, of course, receive an introduction and guidance to ensure you feel secure in your role.
The work involves day, evening, and weekend shifts, and in some services, there are also night and on-call duties. We would prefer if you can work most of the summer to ensure continuity for both you and the service.
As the work may involve solitary tasks, we are looking for someone who is confident, independent, and meticulous. You should be calm, kind-hearted, and maintain a professional approach.
