Your mission In the role of assistant nurse/care assistant, you will work based on the individual needs and wishes of the residents, providing support in daily life from a pedagogical perspective. Together with other staff, your goal is to make each day meaningful and enriching. You will support and guide residents with personal care, meals, medication management, cleaning, community contacts, and communication, among other tasks. An important part of your work is to stimulate and motivate residents to develop their abilities and create opportunities for an active and meaningful leisure time. Your responsibilities include documenting and planning based on implementation plans. During night shifts, two assistant nurses work together with awake night supervision and care tasks. Cleaning, laundry, and other duties are also part of night shifts.
About Grännäs Strand Grännäs Strand care home offers sea views in Valdemarsvik. The residence was constructed in 2008, designed specifically for our target group. If you take the bus to Valdemarsvik, it takes 15 minutes to walk to the Grännäs area where Grännäs Strand is located. Residents live in their own handicap-adapted apartments with bathrooms and kitchenette. Currently, approximately 35 care staff work at Grännäs Strand, many of whom have extensive experience and high competence for our target group. The facility is staffed 24/7, year-round, with awake night staff. We have our own chef providing adapted meals for our residents. A nurse is available around the clock, and a nurse works during daytime hours in the facility. Our doctor visits once a month and is always available for consultation by phone. We have access to an occupational therapist, physiotherapist, and speech therapist who follow up on needs for training and aids every other week. As an assistant nurse, you will work daytime, evenings, and weekends according to a schedule; the working hours may vary. You will have a manager nearby who spends part of their time working in the facility. This could also be a career opportunity for you. Here, we work with animals in care, and we have regular visits from the therapy dog, Bella.
Your experience and knowledge We assume that you, as a candidate, have: • A positive mindset and a strong commitment to people • A sense of responsibility and personal maturity • Enjoy working in a team and supporting your colleagues You have at least a secondary education in care and social services, or another equivalent qualification or experience. It is a plus if you have experience working with the target group. You hold a valid driver’s license. You have good computer skills and experience with documentation. Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, is required; otherwise, your CV is not the most important aspect.
