Role as Healthcare Administrator
When you work as a summer healthcare administrator at the Orthopedic Department at County Hospital Ryhov, you'll become part of a fantastic team and develop your skills in medical terminology and diagnosis classification every day. The team consists of two healthcare administrators, nursing assistants, nurses, and doctors. Together, you work to provide patients with the best possible care.
Your workplace will be the orthopedic outpatient clinic and reception. Your main tasks include medical documentation, diagnosis classification, patient booking and scheduling, and other administrative duties. To create an even better work environment and add variety, we rotate between mail/referral handling, reception work, and medical record writing.
Summer jobs are temporary full-time positions. We need summer healthcare administrator substitutes for weeks 25-33. It is advantageous if you can work many – or all – of these weeks. We appreciate if you can also shadow during the spring.
As a healthcare administrator, you'll have flexible hours and work daytime on weekdays. On Fridays, you'll work until lunch, so with this job, your weekend can start early. We'll collaboratively arrange work schedules to make them as good as possible for everyone in the healthcare administrative unit.
Your Future Workplace
The Orthopedic Department at County Hospital Ryhov is Region Jönköping County's largest orthopedic clinic. We offer treatment, care, and rehabilitation for orthopedic diseases. The clinic is divided into general orthopedics, pediatric orthopedics (pediatric orthopedic center), and spine and neck surgery (neuro-orthopedic center). Approximately 150 people work at the clinic, including 16 healthcare administrators.
The Orthopedic Outpatient Clinic primarily consists of orthopedic services, as well as pediatric and neuro-orthopedics. Minor hand and foot surgeries are also performed here. Plaster technicians, doctors, surgical coordinators, nurses, nursing assistants, and healthcare administrators work together. We strive for quality, competence, and respect in all interactions.
Your Profile
We're seeking candidates who are trained healthcare administrators, medical secretaries, or have completed at least one year of medical healthcare administration education. You need excellent Swedish language skills, both spoken and written. Since healthcare administration is crucial to patient care, you should have a desire to contribute to the best possible patient care. Experience with the Cosmic medical record system and coding training are merits.
Personally, you collaborate easily, are flexible, and can quickly reprioritize daily tasks. You're service-oriented and meticulous in your work.
