Role as Nursing Assistant/Care Assistant/Healthcare Aide
As a summer temp, you will be involved in patient care during their dialysis treatment. Through your work, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the daily practical work at the dialysis unit runs smoothly. You will assist patients during their first encounter with dialysis, assign treatment locations, serve meals, transport patients, and in some cases perform blood pressure and weight checks, as well as prepare dialysis machines. Preparations such as setting up needle carts, making beds, handling rinses, and managing sterile materials are also part of the daily tasks.
We know that being new on the job is not always easy, so we do our best to help you feel secure, motivated, and prepared for your summer job with us. During week 24, we have introduction days with scenario training and education, and we hope you can participate. In addition, we offer workplace-specific introduction. We look positively on the possibility of you shadowing staff during the spring.
Summer jobs are time-limited employment, with percentage of work to be discussed. Work hours are scheduled for day, evening, and every other Saturday. We need relief nursing assistants/care assistants/healthcare aides from weeks 24-33. It is desirable if you can work many – or all – of these weeks.

The Medicine and Geriatrics Clinic is the largest clinic at Värnamo Hospital with many operations under one roof. We have three inpatient care units with different medical specialties. The clinic also has outpatient care, including medical day care and the dialysis unit. Our outpatient services cover all medical specialties.

Your Profile
We prefer candidates who are trained nursing assistants, care workers, or have started studies in nursing assistant, nursing, or medical programs.
We seek someone who is calm, stable, and adaptable to the varying circumstances typical in a hospital setting. You should be easy to collaborate with and attentive to both colleagues and patients. We place great importance on personal suitability.
Please carefully indicate any practical experience and work experience in your application. It is important to attach your diploma. If you have not yet completed your studies, please include a LADOK transcript or other certificate showing completed courses.
As nursing assistant becomes a protected professional title from July 1, 2023, trained nursing assistants should specify in their application whether they have applied for protected title. If you currently have a permanent position as a nursing assistant and have not applied for protected title, please attach proof of your permanent employment to maintain the nursing assistant title.
