About this role

Orthopedic Care Unit B, Orthopedic Clinic, Värnamo Hospital Want to help ensure both your own and many others' summer, be part of a well-functioning team, and develop in your professional role? Then apply for a summer job as a nurse at the Orthopedic Clinic at Värnamo Hospital. Welcome to us! The Nursing Role The Orthopedic Clinic is seeking summer substitute nurses for Orthopedic Care Unit B. Patients with acute orthopedic injuries and diseases requiring treatment are cared for here around the clock. The work involves, among other things, optimization before surgery, meaning you are responsible for care and pain management. You also play a crucial role in the patient's rehabilitation after surgery. We want the patient to be involved in their care, which means communication and contact with relatives is a very important part of the work. Teamwork is important to us. As a nurse, you work in a team together with doctors, nursing assistants, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists. Your working hours are during the day, evening, and weekend. We have individual schedule planning so you can influence which shifts you work. The summer job is a full-time, time-limited employment. We need summer substitutes for weeks 25-32. It is an advantage if you can work many – or all – of the weeks. We also appreciate if you can shadow staff during the spring. Your Future Workplace Värnamo Hospital has repeatedly been at the absolute top – and even in first place – in Dagens Medicin's ranking of Sweden's best mid-sized hospitals. The Orthopedic Clinic offers orthopedic surgical care with high patient safety and good accessibility. You can read more about working at the Orthopedic Clinic here: Orthopedic Clinic at Värnamo Hospital as a Workplace, Region Jönköping County Your Profile We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse or will complete your nursing degree by June 2026. To thrive with us, you need to be interested in orthopedics and enjoy working in teams. You like having extensive patient contact, you have a professional approach, and you take responsibility for your tasks. You are easy to collaborate with and have a positive attitude towards both work tasks and colleagues. We place great importance on personal suitability. Our Offer to You We offer a summer job that we are sure will develop both your competence and experience. We know that everyone has been a beginner and that it is not always easy. Therefore, we do our best to help you feel secure, motivated, and prepared for your summer job with us. Before you start working, you will receive an individual introduction tailored to your needs and experience. Depending on your experience, we can adapt so that you do not have sole patient responsibility. For those continuing employment after the summer, we offer you the opportunity to participate in one of Sweden's best introduction and development programs for newly graduated nurses – RIU. The program comprises 20 full days spread over eight months with lectures, job shadowing, and reflections. RIU gives you a chance to meet other nurses in the same situation where you exchange experiences and provide each other with advice and support.
