The Nursing Role The Oncology Clinic at County Hospital Ryhov in Jönköping is seeking summer substitute licensed nurses for the inpatient ward and day care unit. • The inpatient ward currently has 21 available care beds. As a nurse, you will work alternately with oncology patients and patients receiving palliative care. You are part of a team consisting of doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants working with a patient-centered approach. As a nurse, you share nursing responsibility for a patient group with a nursing assistant. Since we provide 24-hour care, work hours can be during the day, evening, night, and weekends. • The day care unit treats approximately 50 patients daily with various cancer diagnoses. As a nurse, your role is to be a contact nurse. You are responsible for planning and administering the patient's anti-tumor treatment. The unit has oncology specialist nurses and oncology doctors who will help and support you in your work. Work hours are during weekdays. Summer jobs are full-time, time-limited positions. We need summer substitute nurses for weeks 26-33. It is advantageous if you can work many – or all – of these weeks. Regional common introduction occurs outside these weeks, and we appreciate if you can also be trained during the spring, preferably for at least four weeks. You will receive salary during introduction and training. Your Future Workplace The Oncology Clinic receives patients from the entire Jönköping County with cancer diseases. The clinic works with non-surgical treatment of solid tumors. Follow-up and care of patients with treatment-related side effects, patients requiring in-patient treatment, and palliative patients (regardless of diagnosis) are also part of the clinic's operations. We treat approximately 2,200 patients annually with around 22,000 treatments. Our facility is located in new, modern premises. Approximately 190 employees work here. The clinic consists of an inpatient ward, reception, day care unit, radiation therapy, hospital physics department, clinical trial unit, and oncogenetic reception. Your Profile We are seeking licensed nurses or those who will complete their nursing degree by June 2025. You are a person who works well with others and is engaged in personal patient interactions. Since we work with a patient-centered approach, you need the ability to recognize and nurture the patient's healthy aspects. You organize your work efficiently and are thorough.
