About this role

Are you one of our care stars this summer? We are currently seeking several summer substitutes who are interested in working in elderly care, specifically in care homes and short-term accommodations. The summer job period is from week 26 to 33, and there is an opportunity to start as a temporary worker right now. Are you looking for a meaningful and appreciated summer job with good opportunities to continue working with us even after the summer? Are you genuinely interested in helping other people? Then you might be one of the candidates we are looking for! JOB DESCRIPTION There are six different care homes in the municipality of Mariestad, one of which includes short-term accommodation. Working in these homes means that you will support individuals with care and social needs. The tasks are varied and include personal care such as assisting with toilet and shower situations, dressing and undressing, distributing medications, helping during meal times, as well as service tasks like laundry, simple cooking, and social interaction. The homes also organize various activities where you will play an active role in implementation. Activities may include playing games, reading books, listening to music, playing bingo, reading the newspaper, baking, cooking, and having coffee gatherings. During weekends, we often have a cozy Friday evening with something nice to eat in front of the TV. You will work in a team with several colleagues on the same department, and you may also assist between different departments in the facility where you work. This job is for you if you are outgoing and enjoy collaborating with colleagues and contributing to meaningful activities for the elderly. You will have contact with colleagues, unit managers, nurses, and relatives during a work shift. The working hours are mixed, and you will work day shifts, evening shifts, and weekend shifts. There are also opportunities for night shifts at some locations. QUALIFICATIONS We primarily seek candidates who have completed or are currently pursuing a nursing education, childcare education, or other equivalent training. Alternatively, we are looking for individuals with experience working with people in need of support or experience in service professions. You should be engaged and curious in your work and have a strong sense of responsibility. Furthermore, you should be attentive to the residents' needs and have a genuine interest in helping others. You must be proficient in the Swedish language, both spoken and written, to communicate with users and document events and other information in your work. It is very important that you can collaborate well with other colleagues and contribute with flexibility and joy at work. Since two of our facilities are located outside the urban area, having a driver's license is an advantage for these workplaces. Experience and knowledge of alternative communication methods is also a plus. Some digital skills are required as much of the work—both your work schedule and documentation—is managed via apps. We also expect you to be able to work irregular hours, which means shifts during the day, evenings, and weekends. Due to the Swedish Work Environment Authority's requirements for care work, you must be at least 18 years old. APPLICATION PROCESS When applying, we would like you to submit a CV that outlines your previous qualifications. You may omit the personal letter; instead, you will answer a few selection questions. We place great importance on personal qualities and good references. When you submit your application, you can also order a criminal record extract to expedite the recruitment process. What can we offer you? As a new substitute, you will undergo guided introductory and training sessions to feel secure in your work. As a summer employee with us, you will also have access to free outdoor swimming at Ekudden's outdoor pools. Additionally, you will have friendly colleagues, develop your emotional intelligence, and gain valuable experience for the future! We warmly welcome your application! ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Mariestad is a municipality with a clear direction for the future; we are set to grow! We are on the brink of an exciting journey with planned major investments in several areas. These developments will create significant opportunities for the location and organization to grow and evolve. Would you like to help create dream positions together?
