About this role

Are you one of our care stars this summer? We are now looking for several summer substitutes who are interested in working in group homes, service housing, and short-term accommodation for children and youth. The summer job period is from week 26 to 33, and there may be opportunities to work as a substitute already during the spring. Are you eager for a meaningful and appreciated summer job with good opportunities to continue working with us even after the summer? Are you genuinely interested in helping other people? Then you might be one of the candidates we are looking for! JOB DESCRIPTION As a substitute within support for individuals with disabilities, you have an important role where you contribute daily to creating safety, participation, and quality of life for individuals with disabilities. You work closely with the individual and are a vital part of shaping a functioning and meaningful everyday life. You may work in: Group Home In a group home, several residents live in their own apartments. Here, you provide educational support, care, and services that contribute to a meaningful, safe, and developing life. Your responsibilities include caring for individuals and assisting them with personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, laundry, meals, cleaning, community contacts, and support during leisure activities. Alternative communication methods such as pictures, signs, and symbols are used in this work. It is important to ensure participation by involving residents in their own daily lives and finding a variety of fun activities based on their interests. Service Housing Service housing is an intermediate form between independent living in one's own apartment and living in a group home. Here, you provide support to residents based on their individual needs. The goal is to offer basic security in everyday life, where you serve as a social support and help residents establish structure in their daily routines. Unlike group homes, the caregiving tasks are less intensive in service housing. However, similar to group homes, you will also find a variety of fun activities based on individual interests. Short-Term Accommodation for Children/Youth There are two short-term accommodations where services are provided for children and youth aged 6-21. Here, families and relatives receive relief by having the child/youth stay at the facility for one or more days during the week or weekend, or through recreational activities in the mornings, afternoons, and during school breaks. The focus is on social interaction, engaging children and youth, and providing some care. One of the accommodations is specifically adapted for physical disabilities and is fully wheelchair accessible. In the various areas of support for individuals with disabilities, you will sometimes work alone and sometimes with a colleague, depending on the specific workplace. The working hours are varied, and you will work day shifts, evening shifts, and weekend shifts. On-call and night shifts are also part of the schedule. QUALIFICATIONS We are primarily looking for candidates who have completed or are currently pursuing a care education, preschool teacher education, or other equivalent training. Alternatively, we seek individuals with experience working with people in need of support or experience from service professions. You should be engaged and curious in your work and have a strong sense of responsibility. Furthermore, you should be attentive to the needs of residents and have a genuine interest in helping others. You must be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written, to communicate with residents and document events and other information related to your work. It is very important that you can collaborate well with other colleagues and contribute flexibility and joy to the workplace. Having a driver's license is an advantage, as is experience and knowledge of alternative communication methods. Some digital skills are also required, as much of the work—including your work schedule and documentation—is managed via apps. We also expect you to be able to work irregular hours, which means shifts during the day, evenings, and weekends. Due to the Swedish Work Environment Authority's requirements for caregiving work, you must be at least 18 years old. About the Application When you apply, we would like you to submit a CV that outlines your previous qualifications. You may omit the personal letter; instead, you will answer a few selection questions. We place great importance on personal qualities and good references. When you apply, you can already request a criminal record extract to expedite the recruitment process. What can we offer you? As a new substitute, you will undergo guided introductory and training components to feel secure in your work. As a summer employee with us, you will have access to free outdoor swimming at Ekudden's outdoor pools. You will also enjoy friendly colleagues, develop your interpersonal skills, and gain valuable experience for the future! Warm welcome to your application!
