We are delighted that you are interested in working with us! You likely value, just as we do, a job that truly matters. Here at Kalmar Municipality, we work together to continuously make Kalmar even better—for everyone who lives here, runs businesses, or visits our beautiful community.
Kalmar Municipality has a leading-edge elder care system. We aim to be at the forefront of new ideas, collaboration, and ongoing improvement efforts with our care recipients at the center. Together, we make Kalmar’s care services even better, around the clock. Welcome to us!
**JOB DESCRIPTION**
This summer, we are looking for individuals who want a meaningful and important summer job.
Working in care is a varied, enjoyable, and physically engaging role that requires a genuine interest in people. As a care worker, you are an extended arm for the elderly and have the opportunity to help where it is truly needed. No two days are the same! Your tasks will vary and be tailored to the individual’s needs. This may involve assisting with personal hygiene, meals, medication, and transfers, as well as providing emotional support, being a listening presence, and creating joy in everyday life.
You can work in residential care, home care, respite services, or short-term care. Our operations run around the clock, every day of the week. Your working hours will be determined by the needs of the service, which means you should be able to work days/evenings and weekends or nights and weekends.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
To work with us, you need to have a genuine interest in people and be engaged, responsible, and respectful towards others based on their circumstances. You should be able to communicate with colleagues and care recipients and understand instructions in Swedish, both spoken and written. A driver's license is an asset and, in some services, a requirement. If you are interested in home care, you need to be able to cycle. We use digital tools in our daily work, which requires you to be comfortable with this.
We prefer that you have completed or are currently pursuing education in a care and nursing program, nursing program, or other relevant education. Experience in care work and good references from previous employment are advantageous. We place great importance on personal suitability.
To work with us, you must be at least 18 years old.
To be considered for employment, you must present a valid extract from the police criminal record, "Extract for work in HVB homes." This extract can be ordered from the police website www.polisen.se.
Together, we make Kalmar’s Care and Support even better, around the clock.
**ADDITIONAL INFORMATION**
