Do you want to work in an organization with special expertise in supporting women and LGBTQI individuals with foreign backgrounds who have experienced violence? At Somaya Support Center, you'll become part of a dedicated team contributing to creating a safer and more inclusive society. About Us Somaya Support Center is a non-religious and non-political non-profit organization belonging to the national organization Unizon. We are licensed by IVO and offer protection and support to women and LGBTQI individuals experiencing domestic violence or honor-related violence and oppression. We are a multilingual organization with over 25 years of experience working with our target group. Our vision is a society where gender equality, equality, and participation are a given. About the Position We are seeking secure and flexible hourly staff who can reinforce our team in our protected and/or open operations as needed. Depending on your background and qualifications, we will adapt your assignment to the organization's needs and your individual circumstances. You will work closely with our target group in a meaningful and varied role. Examples of tasks in our protected operations may include: • Children and family activities • Practical tasks within the organization • Accompaniment • On-call support Examples of tasks in our open operations may include: • Social guidance and practical support • Support with authority contacts • Children and family activities • Practical tasks within the organization • Counseling and conversational support (for the right profile) Personal Characteristics We seek someone who is self-driven and stable with the ability to quickly adapt to new situations. You can balance empathy with professional role and act confidently and professionally even when circumstances change. You are relationship-oriented and have a good ability to establish contact with people in vulnerable situations. You have a trauma-aware and empathetic approach and genuine interest in individuals with specific vulnerability factors. You value close, unpretentious collaboration in a small work group. Qualifications - Requirements We seek someone who: • Communicates fluently in Swedish, both verbally and in writing • Has good ability to establish contact with people in crisis • Has an empathetic approach • Has good collaboration skills and is accustomed to taking personal responsibility Meriting Factors: • Previous work at women's shelters, protected housing, or other work with vulnerable people • Good knowledge of languages other than Swedish and English • Social work degree or equivalent (including ongoing studies) • Knowledge of domestic violence and honor-related violence • Knowledge of trauma and trauma-aware approach • Driving license (B-class) Diversity is a given for us, and we welcome applicants with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
